He has worked on records across a range of styles, from amp-exploding stoner rock with Stubb to the genre-defying acoustic songwriting of Jessica Law, with whom he has produced three EPs and two full-length albums (with a third currently in production). As a producer Nick brings to your music a keen ear for genre, and can build rich arrangements that help your songs tell their story, including writing parts for string quartet. He is as comfortable recording in professional studios with large-format analogue desks as he is working in DIY on-location setups that allow you to record comfortably while making the most of a tight budget. He is also able to work remotely over the internet, having recently produced an EP for an artist living in Singapore.
Above all, Nick’s approach to production is centred on you and your artistic goals. Jazz pianist Thelonious Monk famously said, ‘A genius is the one most like himself’ - Nick’s goal as a producer is to make your songs most like themslves. He is a careful listener and a responsive coach both to experienced artists and to those just starting out on their recording journey, and makes it a priority to help you refine and realise your creative intentions.
